Toward the waning hours of the day, most of us had to turn in to shower up and get ready for the evening events. Essex chose to hold the evening events at the Aquatic Center. What a beautiful convention center! Walking in, one of the security guards stated, “It’s crazy in there.” And boy was he right. Over a thousand people filled the largest convention center in the city. Even with the size of this convention center there were still a shortage of seats. Some people had to sit on the floor, but it certainly didn’t slow them down. They were troupers to the bitter end, giving us thumbs up as if to say, “I’m okay wherever I am”. What a great group of people.

Great food, drinks, music, awards, prizes and rowdy Essex Boat owners happened to be the theme of this evening. On stage was the band “The Nomads”, who were playing throughout the night. One of my favorites was a Nomad rendition of Itsy Bitsy Spider. Kids flocked to the stage singing along; the song broke out into a radical but funny version that really got the kids cranking. Boy could they dance. That evening the Essex Boat owners and their friends also got cranking. Everyone was yelling at the top of their lungs as the Essex Staff ran around throwing gifts into the crowd. Someone commented that they thought Essex Boat owners would be a little more subtle. I don’t think so!

Over $20,000 in cash and prizes was given out that evening. Most everybody received something and at the very least we hope everyone had a good time. Thanks to an awesome group of people who can make fun wherever they may go… Essex Boat Owners!
